I am a 50+ year old college student who thoroughly enjoys the whole college experience. This blog was created as a requirement for one of my courses, however, since I enjoy writing, I am going to attempt to make this more than simply an assignment.
A little more about me: I am a mother of 4 grown children, and have 1 grandson. Both of my daughters are married, one just in the past few days. Neither of my sons are married, but one is in a long term relationship and I have a step grandson there. Between the Mr. and I, there are 8 children total, all but 2 are married (or in a long term relationship) and we have a total of 11 grandchildren. They don’t all live close, but we do try to see them as much as possible.
I also rescue, foster, and am owned by wolfdogs. Currently, we share our lives with 8 dogs, ranging from a 17 year old lab/pit mix all the way to a (almost) 2 year old high content wolfdog. There are also 2 “foster boys” here who are getting ready to go to their forever homes soon. My New Year’s resolution was “No more fosters!” …. we shall see how long I can stick to that.
If that isn’t enough to keep me busy, I am also a member and volunteer at the Historical Society. We have a farmstead that is on the National Historic Register that was recently restored back to its 1850 – 1865 days and have begun doing living history events there. It’s fun to dress and live in the period – my 3 year old grandson even participates. I have also made some of the clothes that are worn there, and I am the “Unofficial Official Photographer” as well. Actually, at an event we held last spring, I learned how to to tin type photography, which, if I can come up with a few extra dollars and some free time, may be incorporated into the events that are held there on a regular basis.
So, that’s a little about me. Bear with me while I get this started, and hopefully, you’ll enjoy reading what I enjoy writing ….
